Hootsuite Enters the Employee Advocacy Market

Hootsuite is now a player in the Employee Advocacy market, and I will add them to the Buyer’s Guide for Employee Advocacy Software in coming days.
It makes a lot of sense for HootSuite to enter this space because so many brand employees already use Hootsuite to engage in social media. HootSuite continues to expand on their native functionality and invest in their larger enterprise ecosystem, to meet the broader requirements of the social organization.

Kevin Zellmer, Global Director of Enterprise BD at HootSuite said, “Our enterprise business is focused on enabling entire organizations — hundreds of thousands of employees — to effectively and efficiently use social. Social should be the fabric of an organization, connecting internal and external systems, applications, customers and partners. Employee advocacy is a requirement for success.”

HootSuite will certainly need to expand their capabilities and address the broader requirements of organizations that empower employees in social media on behalf of the brand, and it will be fun to watch that happen.

This employee advocacy space is heating up in 2014. It’s going to be a very interesting year.

    I’m definitely looking to see what they come up with and oh yeah there are a lot of players in the Employee Advocacy game. It is going to see how it all shakes out and how it evolves once it moves the “latest marketing trend,” space.

    From your expert perspective do you think most companies see the longterm vision (and investment needed; cash and otherwise) or they are just riding the wave of, “this is the thing to do right now?”

    We’re current Hootsuite enterprise customers and I’m in the middle of developing an action plan for us to empower our workforce via social. Any word as to when Hootsuite will be announcing this offering or where I can learn more about it from them??
