In 2009, 65% of non-profits were blogging, versus 22% of the Fortune 500, according to Nora Ganim Barnes, Ph. D. and Eric Mattson, in a recent study published by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research. (See chart below, adapted from their study.)
The study found that charities, “… are learning about and using social media more effectively every year,” In addition, charities have significantly increased their use of comments, email subscriptions and RSS subscriptions on their blogs over the past three years in which the study was conducted.
